Weekly Meal Planner | Free Printable

We are all super moms!  seriously.  Raise your hand if you have stretched your arm beyond conceivable reach to get the toy that fell in the car, or read an extra bedtime story (or two or three), or changed a dirty diaper without gagging (or bragging), or made dinner while holding a baby on your hip, or made a boo boo better with your kiss.  Somehow, we manage to get the kids awake, dressed, and fed, faces clean, hair and teeth brushed, with homework, lunches, jackets, and tied shoelaces out the door, kissed and hugged and to school on time every morning!

In recognition of Super Moms everywhere, here’s a free printable Weekly Menu Planner to help us be even more super…if that’s even possible!  I’ll admit that I am not the most organized person, so I usually end up running to the store at least 4 times a week for this and that so I can make a dinner that I, of course, do not have all the ingredients for.  Hopefully this Weekly Menu Planner will help me just make one good trip.  I made this so I (and you) can cut off the grocery list portion to take to the store and put the menu portion on the fridge.  I am thinking I will save the used menu plans for when we are in a food rut and need ideas…or for recycling a whole week’s menu plan to save the time for creating one from scratch!

County Fair Birthday Party

On Saturday, the County Fair came to our backyard in celebration of Kyle’s Fifth Birthday! We had a ball tossing game, a bean bag game, a cake (actually cookie) walk, and blue ribbons for all the kids. There was popcorn, and corndogs, and Walkin’ Tacos like at the State Fair of Texas. Of course we also had birthday cake, and a strawberry shortcake trifle.

See that “popcorn?” It’s actually cupcakes! I spent a lot of time working on that and then I forgot to put it out during the party! ugh. At least it will live forever in this picture.

I had my mom bring over her red-white-and-blue quilts for decoration, and the guests could pull them down and use them for picnic blankets.

Barrett got the blue ribbon for Best Scary Face

Annabelle got the Blue Ribbon for Best Pigtails.

These two brothers sat down together with their fair food and they were even wearing the party colors!

The party favors–in all the excitement, I didn’t get a picture of this until almost all the guests were gone. There were also horses and ducks in the “petting zoo.”

Walking Tacos “Recipe”:

Cut a Fritos bag on one side and hold like a taco shell. Add taco meat, cheese, chopped tomato, shredded lettuce, sour cream , guacamole…whatever you like on tacos…and eat with a fork while you walk.

Lollipops and Sweets Birthday Party

My baby girl turned one! We had a Candy Shoppe Party for her since she’s so sweet!

The invitation

We had lollipops, soda pop, and flavored popcorn. Jellybeans, bubble gum, and pink lemonade. There was a Guess-the-number-of-gumballs-in-the-jar contest and jelly-bean-bag game.

These are just snapshots…sometimes I just have to be a mommy and not a photographer.  Her expressions are priceless!

After the cake, Gigi, Grandma, and Aunt Pam whisked Annabelle off to the tub after this shot for a “quick bath” that seemed to take a very long time.  They asked themselves, “How many grandmothers does it take to bathe one baby?”

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating her first precious year!  Thank you my mom for taking the extra/leftover fabric and making the cutest little blanket and purse for Annabelle!

Lego Birthday Party

For Kyle’s fourth birthday party, we had a little Lego themed get-together with mostly family and a couple of friends. I made Lego block shaped cakes and the candles were held up by 4 little Lego men (AKA MiniFigures to the die-hard Lego lovers). We had a Lego hunt where the kids hunted for Legos on the porch. I made Lego Man Pops out of marshmallows and candy melts. The connector (top knot) part was made by cutting a small marshmallow in half and sticking it to the top before dipping in the yellow candy melt. I drew the faces on with food markers.

When Kyle’s teachers asked him about his birthday party, he said excitedly, “We had jellybeans!” Yup folks, that’s right, I went to all that trouble of making Lego Man Pops, the Lego Block cake, a banner, etc, but the highlight for him was the jellybeans I bought on a whim. figures.

Isn’t it hilarious how other kids always try to blow out the candles? I know I have some pics like this from when I was little where my cousins are blowing out my candles.
